This guy surfing behind a sportfishing boat is one of the neatest things I have seen in a long time. Chek out the 360’s towards the end. Amazing. I found it on BoldWater TV’s YouTube.

ESPN Spanish Fly TV with Captain Jose Wejebe
This is my absolute favorite fishing show on TV. Jose goes to so many killer fishing locations around the world. He also is very tasteful in the way he delivers his show to the viewers. Check out his website it is great.
Tons of cool, pictures, stories and he also has SpanishFly theater on there. Spanish Fly theater has fishing tips, old jose wejebe fishing episodes, saltwater tackle boxes, vida del mar, bloopers and much more. I give the site a 10.
Ok so my friends all know I’m obsessed with Jose Wejebe and the Spanish fly fishing show. I have been watching it for years. He has inspired my drive to fish remote locations around the world for different species. I just wish I could make a living at it like Jose does! Anyway he has added a new road less traveled on Costa’s TV.
Check it out.
Cool piece about Jose Wejebe being in Rum Cay, Bahamas.
Thank you Captain Scott for all the fishing information. Your website is fantastic. All the rigging information and tackle tips have been very helpful if nothing I just enjoy watching all the fishing videos. The video of you free gaffing the dolphin in the bahamas is the coolest thing I have ever seen!
Keep up all the good work
Offshore Academy – Captain Scott Goodwin
Check out this video of a big swordfish caught in an oil rig. Amazing how they grab it with the little sub arm and try to pull it out of the oil rig. Sword in oil rig video
The video makes me want to go swordfishing soon. I’m still researching a sword trip.
The weather has been horrible to get offshore, we have had to cancel our charter.
Snook fishing on the other hand has been very good. There has been a good amount of small flounders around Sebastian inlet and some large over slot redfish!
I really enjoy reading the Tribenwater fishing forum.
TribeNwater (TrI-ben-Water) 1. a gathering of all things fishing, inshore, offshore, structure, flats, saltwater, and freshwater. |
I found another good fish forum with lots of information. http://www.sportfishermen.com/board/ lots of detailed information on rigging, charters, tackle. They have done a fantasic job with this their site.
Posted: Finding out about our trip to Hawaii for Marlin and a fishing trip to the Carolinas for Bluefin tuna.
Going to post all the good information once I have some good fishing Information.
Still haven’t seen any good snook reports from opening day. Hopefully this will be a good season. Posted a thread on Florida Sportsmen Forum asking for reports, my guess is the weather kept a lot of guys at home last night.
Going to try my luck at Sebastian Inlet next week depending on the weather.
BLUE MARLIN
Blue marlin is the biggest of the Atlantic Marlins and one of the largest fish in the entire world.
Females, which are significantly larger than males, can reach 14 feet in length and weigh more than 1,985 pounds. Average lifespan in the wild is up to 27 years (female)
Average sizes tend to be in the range of 10 feet and 175 to 400 pounds.
Native to the tropical and temperate waters of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, blue marlins are among the most recognizable of all fish. They are blue on top and silvery-white below, with a pronounced dorsal fin and a long, spear-shaped upper jaw. They oftne change their colors depending on their mood. Excited Blue Marlins will “ligh up” in many electric colors.
They are Pelagic fish, spending most of their lives far out at sea. They are also highly migratory, and will follow warm ocean currents for hundreds and even thousands of miles.
Blue marlins prefer the higher temperature of surface waters, feeding on mackerel and tuna, but will also dive deep to eat squid. They are among the fastest fish in the ocean, and use their bills to slash through dense schools, returning to eat their stunned and wounded victims.
Blue Marlin are known for putting up a tremendous fight when hooked, these billfish are the holy grail for sportfishermen.
